| Skara Brae on Mainland - Orkney Islands date

Built from the local stone you are seeing a sleeping area, fire and cooking pit, cupboards and a dresser and most intriguing of all, there are drains and evidence of pre Roman plumbing. Savages? Glencar Lough is quite small but the valley is beautiful none the less. Where Thatch says 'Ben Bulben' substitute King Mountain. Bulben can not be seen from this view. Also if you have sharp eyes you will find a 'treefoil' in the centre of the small copse of trees opposite us on the other side of the lough. | |
