Hard to believe we are really here again. It is all very dreamlike and the experiences wash over and through you, like the tides at home. Here the tides creep, in and out. Much like the water running out of a great big flat pan.

I make no claims for the accuracy of the maps provided, in fact since the map of England and Scotland is made up of several small overlapping ones, it is more than a little skewed. The adventure so far has seen us move from Heathrow near London, down to West Sussex. We stayed for 2 nights in a location called Chuck Hatch. We stayed in a place called the Paddocks, it is a B&B opposite the Ashfield Forest and a short stroll from the village of Hartfield which in real life are the areas where the Winnie the Pooh stories are set. It was a great place for walking through. We were late for breakfast the first morning. (This country has some of the most baffling and whimsical names. We then made our way to Amesbury for 2 nights where we stayed in a B&B located a mile from Stonehenge. From there our route took us to York which is where we now reside. We were not able to get accommodation within the medieval city walls, but our lodgings are within spitting distance. It is home for the weary travelers for the 3 nights. The sun is coming up and it looks like another fabulous summer day. It has been warm to hot and sultry. The 4 of us have a mild case of sunburn. Our intentions to keep these pages up to date and to make regular journal entries have largely been sabotaged by Optus on the one hand and by a failure of the technology to live up to expectations. The lack of Net Cafes in the South of England has been quite frustrating. They have either closed due to lack of demand, or (dig this) keep business hours.
